Gas Training Course Overview
Stage 1: Natural Gas: a full assessment intended for operatives who carry out installation and maintenance work on domestic pipework, appliances and equipment. This provides a full understanding of how to work safely on domestic gas installations. (CCN, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, DAH1, MET1, LAU1, CPA1).
Stage 2: Domestic LPG PD: changeover Natural Gas to LPG Training Course. This course includes CCLP1 PD, installation servicing, and repair of domestic appliances in permanent dwellings, i.e. houses, flats, etc. It provides a full understanding of how to work safely on domestic gas installations.
Stage 3: RPH, LAV, B, HTRLP: covers the competencies required to cover Liquid Petroleum Gas. This course provides a full understanding of how to work safely on installations and maintenance in Leisure Accommodation Vehicles, i.e. caravans, motorhomes, residential park homes, boats and yachts.
Stage 4: APL (Approved Prior Learning): covering all aspects of domestic gas safety, this is recognised by the ACS scheme. The APL Foundation Course is an in-depth course designed for new entrants looking to become gas engineers. The APL Training Course is ideal for those with plumbing, heating, pipefitting or similar skills which can be transferred to the gas industry.
