Gas Safety Week 17-23 September

Gas Safety Week 17- 23 September Gas Training Courses Basildon, Benfleet, Essex

The eight annual Gas Safety Week is taking place from September 17th until 23rd. During the week, numerous UK organisations will be pledging their support and raising awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances.

Simply put, if installed incorrectly or poorly maintained, a gas appliance can cause CO poisoning, gas leaks, fires or explosions. Carbon monoxide poisoning alone affects more than 1,000 people per year and can be fatal, which is why gas safety is vitally important all year round. However, by focusing awareness about the potential dangers in one week, it is far more likely to have a greater impact on the general public.

Will your business sign up?

This is where you as a gas installer comes in. Businesses that take part in Gas Safety Week are doing their bit to help protect their customers. In return, you will benefit from a range of benefits provided by the Gas Safe Register. This includes a free toolkit full of relevant gas safety content that you can add to your website and share with your customers and greater brand awareness for your business – everyone who supports Gas Safety Week 2018 will appear on the Gas Safe Register’s website.

The toolkit consists of:

  • Gas Safety Week logo
  • Press release kit
  • Social media updates
  • Web banners
  • Articles
  • Images
  • PDFs of the Gas Safety Week poster and leaflets
  • Puzzles for children

In 2017, almost 8,000 UK businesses operating in the gas industry supported Gas Safety Week, spreading the word about the importance of gas safety through a wide range of activities:

  • Gas Safety Superheroes
  • ‘Time to Talk’ campaign
  • Gas safety talks
  • Community events
  • Awareness training sessions
  • Gas safety quizzes
  • Free gas safety checks
  • Free CO alarms with every boiler installation

Ensure your customers remain gas safe and raise your own business’s profile at the same time – show your support for Gas Safety Week 2018. Visit the Gas Safe Register website for more information.
